RAWALPINDI: Former inside minister and AML Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and his nephew MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq have been acquitted within the case of sloganeering at Masjid-e-Nabawi.
Fateh Jang Judicial Justice of the Peace Muhammad Arif issued the order on their acquittal plea filed beneath Part A-249 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Sheikh Rashid and Rashid Shafiq had been implicated within the case on the orders of Shehbaz Sharif and Inside Minister Rana Sanaullah on the idea of mere political opposition.
“They don’t have anything to do with this incident, nor can they assume so,” Sardar Abdul Razzaq Advocate asserted.
“In response to the legislation, the FIR of an incident overseas can’t be registered in Pakistan, nor can a personal particular person file an FIR of blasphemy,” he added.
“Such a case may be registered by the federal or provincial authorities solely,” he acknowledged. After listening to the arguments, the courtroom pronounced the decision.
