On the age of 38, veteran wrestler Jay Briscoe (precise title Jamin Pugh) went away.

Tony Khan, proprietor of AEW and ROH, tweeted the tragic information on Tuesday evening.

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has handed away,” Khan wrote. “Recognized to followers as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the primary present till right this moment. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this present day. We’ll do no matter we will to help his household. Relaxation In Peace Jamin.”

After defeating FTR on December 10 at ROH Closing Battle, Jay and his brother Mark grew to become the present ROH World Tag Staff Champions. The Briscoes, who’ve gained tag workforce championships for organisations together with NJPW, Influence Wrestling, GCW, and CZW along with their 13 reigns as ROH World Tag Staff Champions, are largely recognised as one of many high tag groups of the twenty-first century.

Jay loved success as a singles wrestler in the course of the course of his storied profession and twice held the ROH World Championship.

The Briscoes had been inducted into the ROH Corridor of Fame in 2022 as a member of the primary class.

“Attributable to an unthinkable tragedy in our group this night, The Laurel College District will probably be closed tomorrow, Wednesday January 18, 2023. Faculties will reopen on Thursday. Please preserve the Pugh Household in your ideas and prayers.”
