Chinese language FM fiercely rebukes US spy chief’s remarks about sanctions on China

A spokesperson for the Chinese language Overseas Ministry on Thursday provided a fierce rebuke to remarks made by a prime US intelligence official’s remarks about imposing related financial sanctions towards Russia on China, saying some within the US are hooked on sanctions that trigger hurt and chaos to the world.

At a panel dialogue throughout the World Financial Discussion board’s annual assembly in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday, US Director of Nationwide Intelligence Avril Haines mentioned that resulting from China’s nearer integration with the world financial system, if the West have been to enact vital sanctions on China because it did with Russia, it will have higher affect on China.

Requested about Haines’ remarks at an everyday press briefing on Thursday, Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for the Chinese language Overseas Ministry, didn’t mince phrases in criticizing the US spy chief’s feedback.

“Some folks within the US are hooked on extreme sanctions,” Wang mentioned, including that weaponizing financial and technological points poses a severe menace to world peace and stability.

“Related statements by the US have absolutely uncovered the true face of US hegemony. Its intention to hurt others and trigger hurt and chaos for the world is unpopular and will certainly be resisted and opposed by the world,” Wang mentioned.
