Autumn Snyder’s family is missing an essential member of the family. It isn’t easy to know why someone would take their life. We have gathered Autumn’s life history and family background to shed light on the reason pf her suicide.
Who is Autumn Snyder?
Autumn Snyder was the child of renowned director Zack Snyder. On November 27, 1996, she was born in China and among the eight Zack Snyder’s children (biological and adopted). After Zack Snyder adopted her, Autumn spent an important part of her childhood in Pasadena, California. It is not comprehended whether she succeeded in meeting her biological parents or what happened to them.
Autumn Snyder developed a great interest in her father’s profession and fell in love with the film industry. She believed in becoming an actress one day. Autumn loved writing and enjoyed updating her diary, which she did for a long time.
After high school, Autumn attended Sarah Lawrence College. However, she could not have completed her studies as her depression led her to commit suicide one year before graduation.
After A Long Battle With Depression, Autumn Snyder Committed Suicide
During her teenage years, Autumn started going into depression.
While people have speculated the term depression wildly over the years, different reasons push people into that hopeless void.
Autumn started thinking about her worth in the world, her identity, and her purpose.
In an interview, Zack explained the sorts of conversations that he had with Autumn regarding depression.
Autumn would often ask what her worth was, what she was about, and about her existence.
Zack and Autumn often talked about her battle with depression. She was on medicine and had been in therapy but fought to shake off the condition. “She was always wondering about her worth,” Zack told Vanity Fair. “‘What is my worth? What am I supposed to do? What am I about?’“
Synder constantly encouraged Autumn that her life had endless worth. “The conversation was like, ‘Of course you’re amazing!” Zack added. “What do you mean your worth? You’re worth more than anything in the world!’ And she would just be like, ‘…yeah.‘”
Autumn’s conflict came out in pieces she wrote. She vented her grief and searched for relief through words. “Her main characters are always in this battle with things from another dimension that no one can see,” Zack explained. “And that war was happening to her every day. I think so many people are in that battle, and they smile and nod at you.“
Autumn lost her battle with depression when she committed suicide on March 12, 2017. Autumn’s tragic death rocked Synder’s family as they strived to process the surprising turn of events. However, a silver lining appeared as Autumn’s death helped raise awareness about suicide prevention and knowledge.
Synder’s fans have raised over half a million dollars for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Zack and Deborah plan to publish a manuscript written by Autumn, with the incomes going to charity. Autumn wrote a sci-fi fantasy novel in the first person about an outsider character struggling to fit in. “In the end, she didn’t make it, but her character does, and I think there would be something cathartic for people,” Zack explained The Hollywood Reporter.
Autumn Snyder Death
On March 12, 2017, the whole Snyder family underwent a huge tragedy as Autumn Snyder committed suicide and took her own life.
The Snyder family has remained relatively tight-lipped about the death of Autumn.
However, we know for a fact depression is one of the main causes behind Autumn’s death.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner report, significant amounts of two types of drugs were present.
One drug is named Acute Citalopram, and the other is called Diphenhydramine.
Acute Citalopram is a medical drug used initially as an antidepressant. Doctors may also prescribe Acute Citalopram for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, and social phobia.
The other drug found in Autumn’s body was Diphenhydramine. A medical drug used to relieve symptoms of allergy, fever, and the common cold.
The Medical Examiner-Coroner report claimed that one of the reasons was the intoxication of these two different kinds of drugs.
Fans Demanded: Zack Snyder’s Justice League
When Justice League was released in 2017, there were a number of fans who went home dissatisfied from the theatres.
Many scenes from the original trailer did not make it to the movie because Joss re-did most of the script.
As a consequence, avid DC fans began ranting for Snyder’s version of Justice League on social media under the hashtag #SnyderCut.
Four years after fans started asking for Snyder’s version of Justice League, it’s finally in action. Zack and HBO Max took it upon themselves to give the fans what they had been asking for years.
The movie is titled “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” and HBO Max released the official trailer in early 2021.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Snyder tells The Hollywood Reporter he is moving away from Justice League, Warner Bros.’ all-star DC Comics superhero mega-movie that is in postproduction to deal with the sudden death of his daughter. Snyder’s wife, Deborah Snyder, a producer on Justice League, is also taking a break to focus on the healing of their family.
Autumn Snyder Work
Autumn took a somewhat similar line of interest as her father.
While Zack Snyder remains attracted towards directing, Autumn found writing as her forte from a young age.
In 2014, Autumn reportedly raised more than $12,000 through her charity’ Write-A-Thon To End Homelessness For Mothers and Their Children.’
Her father greatly supported her philanthropic endeavor as well.
In a rare interview, Autumn Snyder said,
“Writing is very important to me. It is my way of speaking. I have been doing it for many years quietly, but now have decided to use my passion for writing to help raise money for the Elizabeth House in Pasadena, California.”
As a charity move, Autumn also began writing 2,500 words every single day, focused on a science fiction novel titled “The Prophet.”
“I pledge to write 2,500 words a day for two weeks toward the goal of finishing the first half of the second novel in my fantasy fiction series entitled “Hell’s Guardians.” The total word goal for the two weeks is 35,000 words.
For every word I write, what amount are you willing to pledge? Donate per word or any amount you choose. Every donation, large or small, makes a difference. All donations are tax-deductible.”
Most of the charitable work that Autumn did always looked to exceed the goal limit. When she set on to raise $2,500, she ended up raising over $12,000.
